OPINION PIECE FROM WHOLE FOODS CEO

The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare
Eight things we can do to improve health care without adding to the deficit.

By JOHN MACKEY
"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."
—Margaret Thatcher
With a projected $1.8 trillion deficit for 2009, several trillions more in deficits projected over the next decade, and with both Medicare and Social Security entitlement spending about to ratchet up several notches over the next 15 years as Baby Boomers become eligible for both, we are rapidly running out of other people's money. These deficits are simply not sustainable. They are either going to result in unprecedented new taxes and inflation, or they will bankrupt us.

RULES FOR PATRIOTIC PROTEST

I received a good article from Michelle Malkin today that I think I should share with you. The full article can be found at http://michellemalkin.com/.
The main point of the article is the rules for patriotic protest. I am just giving a synopsis, but her article goes into more detail. Again I wanted to give you a quick list.

The Rules (a synopsis):
  1. No Shouting, but if your attending a presidential townhall spirited chanting is acceptable
  2. Refrain from boisterous shrieking
  3. No laughing or snickering
  4. No Nazi comparisons, references to fascism are un-American (note: this is the new "N" word)
  5. No boorish questions
  6. No mean signs
  7. Finally, To those of you who can’t abide by The Rules: Stop talking and get out of the way.

SOMETHING I FOUND

After some research today, I found an article that made me think. Sometimes we need an outside look to see the forest for the trees. We need to step back sometimes and take a look. The issue is the underlying symptom, which is primary to our economy. All the proposals, being considered by our Government, costs money. How are we going to pay for it? In our homes we want things to make our life better, but we need to access our finances to determine if we can afford it. When we hit our debt limit, creditors will stop lending to us. We then have to either make necessary changes to live within our means or declare bankruptcy because we spent to much and cannot pay it back. Simon Johnson has a good article in the Atlantic written in May. Its a few months old but very relevant. A short description of the article is below and the article is several pages long, therefore I thought a link would be better. Take time to read it and let me know what you think. Remember, its food for thought. I think its time for our Government to start living within its means.

The crash has laid bare many unpleasant truths about the United States. One of the most alarming, says a former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, is that the finance industry has effectively captured our government—a state of affairs that more typically describes emerging markets, and is at the center of many emerging-market crises. If the IMF’s staff could speak freely about the U.S., it would tell us what it tells all countries in this situation: recovery will fail unless we break the financial oligarchy that is blocking essential reform. And if we are to prevent a true depression, we’re running out of time.

OTHER TOPICS

OK, so I have spent a lot of time discussing the Health care issue. I believe it is an important point which must be discussed vehemently. Hopefully you saw Arlen Specter townhall. Sen. Specter did something other Senators are afraid to do, listen. He took his bumps and bruises but took it like all Congressmen should. American Citizens voicing their opinion.

I do not see AstroTurf here. President Obama has been shielded from the rhetoric. Several Pundits today have said the Presidential Townhall was picked to be a favorable environment. Every President does this, so I am not going to hammer him for maintain the status quo. I really would like to see the President go toe to toe with Glenn Beck or Mark Levin. Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh have been polarized so people will dismiss easily. Now President Obama has changed the term for the reform from Health care reform to Health Insurance reform. Ok what is it..? Another good point I heard today is write all bills to a Junior High level for all Americans to understand and/or make them 3 pages long. If congress has trouble understanding huge bills then how are the people who are charged with implementation going to understand them?

I can't wait to see how these townhalls will be spun today.

Other topics:
1) Lets look at the Afghan war..... I want this war over as bad as others but we need to do the same thing we did in Iraq, a surge. Lets stop fiddling around and end it now !!! If the Generals think we need more troops then send them.
2) The national debt is soaring. You should find this article in the USA Today interesting: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-08-10-deficit_N.htm
3) Finally, why would a grandfather grope Minnie Mouse at Disney World. People are sick. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/orl-bk-groping-minnie-mouse-081109,0,5727056.story

UNAMERICAN?

I want to make a quick comment about something said.
Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House) had these words today...

"These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades."

This was just part of the entire editorial in the USA Today here is the link: http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2009/08/unamerican-attacks-cant-derail-health-care-debate-.html
How can the Speaker say that American who voice their opinions is unAmerican? The liberals were very vocal in opposition to the Iraq war.
Americans want to be heard and they are not listening. In your normal life if someone is ignoring you and you want to be heard, what do you do? Talk louder right.....
Let me know what you think!!!!

WE NEED TO STOP AND THINK

What is it that makes us tick as Americans?
Is it the freedom to do eat Fast Food?
The choice of clothes to wear or place to live?
How about the ability to voice our opinion or say nothing at all?
Maybe its just FREEDOM!!!
Freedom and liberty...
I can choose for my life what I want and when I want it, not dictated by the whims and desires of someone else. We do have to live in the confines of the law, which contain chaos and maintain order. Right now those laws are a little more confining than they were for our ancestors.
Our forefathers rebelled against the control and tyranny of the British Empire and Crown to give us the chance to live free and be a light unto the world.

Members of the Government still push for more governmental control but we must withstand and persevere. The Government will creep and slowly take away those rights we hold precious and dear. There are some politicians that are on our side but we may have to throw the baby out with the bathwater to clean up this mess.
All I ask is you stand up and remain vigilant. Resist any attempt to take away your rights. Remember the Bill of Rights........They are yours!!!!

Let me know if you see or hear any intrusions or violations and I will help shed the light. Like cockroaches, if you turn on the light, they will scamper.

This is our time to defend this great nation and put it back on the path of greatness.
Maintain our standing as GOD's Gift to the World.......

WHAT, WE ARE AN ANGRY MOB NOW?

So we are now an angry Mob!!!
I take a week off and look what happens, the Democrats and health care supporters ratchet up the rhetoric. We are asking for our voices to be heard. We are asking for our representatives to listen. The Healthcare subject is just the next item that is an example of a Government out of touch with the public.
It all started with the Bank bailouts last year under Former President Bush and has moved forward. Watch the attached videos and let me know what you think.....
